This is simply the way it is made! This is a 2 piece Mahogany finish Bookcase Butler’s Desk or China Cabinet. This is made in 2 pieces so it can be easily moved from room to room. This is marked #603 Saginaw Furniture Company. This is right out of the 1940’s to 50’s. The left and right glass doors have the bubble glass to enhance the case. This was a little different than most that you find, the center is an open area with removable shelves.

These shelves are 12 5/8 inches wide and 9 ¾ inches front to back. The 2 removable and adjustable shelves behind the glass doors are 16 ½ inches wide and 9 inches front to back. This cabinet is 78 ½ inches tall, 54 inches wide and the base is 14 ½ inches front to back. The 2 doors with the bubble glass are 17 ½ inches wide x 35 ½ inches tall. The top left and right Silverware drawers are 10 inches wide, 10 inches front to back and 5 ½ inches deep. The Butler’s Desk when it drops forward it has a wonderful leather inlay area and this surface area is 25 inches wide x 10 ¼ inches front to back. The cubby hole drawer is 6 ½ inches wide, 6 inches front to back and 2 3/8 inches deep. The 4 remaining drawers in the base are 26 inches wide, 11 ¾ inches front to back and 5 ¾ inches deep. The left and right doors are 11 ¼ inches wide and 21 inches tall.
