There are ice boxes and there are
ICEBOXES. A life time of being in
the antique business I have only own
approx. 4 of these rare to find
Gurnsy 1890's lion head and claw
feet oak and chestnut mix extremely
thought after boxes. I owned two of
them approx. 20 years ago, and have
NOT seen one since until the last
year or two. This is the second one
in the last 2 years that we have
owned, and the other one is in OUR
collection. This has been all
refurbished and ready to use. The
Gurnsy decal label is original.
Underneath this original label it
shows what appears to be 2 drip
marks, IT IS NOT.. These 2 marks are
some burling in the wood.
This is 59 in.tall at the back top,
The top surface is 50 3/4 in. tall
28 1/2 in. wide 19 in. front to
back. Both doors are 18 in. wide,
top door is14 in.tall and the bottom
door is 19 in. tall. The original
bevel mirror is 10 in. wide and 6
in. tall. The lion heads at the top
corners are 5 in. tall and 2 in.
thick.
